Born “Anna Laveria May” at the U.S. military hospital in Taipei, Taiwan, Anna May has worked internationally in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia. As a member of Rotary International and as a history-making former elected official, she has traveled to South America and Asia and Australia to stay connected with the interrelation of business, government, community, and charity.

Several very competitive endeavors have graced Anna May’s professional life including restaurant ownership and franchising numerous Rickshaw outlets in the Bay Area. Starting her real estate career as a loan officer with rates above 10%, she proceeded to commercial real estate and business opportunity sales. After affiliation with her own residential real estate brokerage for 19 years, she joined Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty due to its pristine reputation, international recognition, and high level of service at all price points. True to her down-to-earth roots, she continues to live, invest, and conduct business in the San Francisco Bay Area while often tapping into her international network to assist her worldwide real estate clients.

Consistently recognized as an award-winning top professional, Anna May was featured in the coveted East Bay Business Times “40 Under 40” shortly after being voted “Best Real Estate Agent” in the Daily Review reader’s choice poll. Often interviewed for industry magazines and local news outlets, Anna serves as an irreverent top producer panelist or moderator at real estate conferences and leads training sessions for fellow agents.

Anna May's leadership has extended to presidency of a Women's Council of Realtors chapter, Rotary Club President, Professional Standards Committee Member for the National Association of Realtors, and as Director/Vice President of her historic neighborhood association after she started the National Night Out events in front of her home. She also created her high school alumni association to support and challenge high performing but bored high school students, serving as president. Anna May also started the SantaCon phenomenon in her hometown and continues to organize and promote this annual venue-crawl on the 1st Saturday each December to raise money to sponsor free pet adoptions at her local animal shelter in addition to volunteering.

To keep life fun, Anna May performs as a stand-up comedian, donating her comedy show earnings to charity.
