Carrie Du Bois began her sales career shortly after graduating from college. She worked for numerous start-up companies and handled major accounts for NCR Corporation. In 1994 Carrie obtained her real estate license and worked for the San Carlos office of Coldwell Banker for 26 years. She recently made the move to Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty because she was impressed with the company philosophy of exceptional agent and client care.

Carrie is a 23 year resident of San Carlos and has raised three boys with her husband Grant. Carrie has always been heavily involved in volunteer work. Her volunteer activities began with the Junior League of Palo Alto Mid Peninsula where she started an award winning project and served on the board of directors three times. When Carrie’s oldest son started kindergarten in the San Carlos School District, she became involved in the San Carlos Educational Foundation and served as the president for two years. Carrie helped take the foundation to from a $60,000 fund to $280,000 and set the stage for the organization become one of the most successful fundraising models in the county.

Carrie has served as a school board trustee since 2005, when she was elected to the San Carlos Elementary School District board. In 2011, she ran for and won a seat on the Sequoia Union High School District board to advocate for high-risk youth, blend communities, and continue her work to improve outcomes for ALL students.

Her passion for education issues comes from 12 years of advocacy for foster youth, her two decades of involvement with the Rosalie Rendu Center of East Palo Alto, and many other community projects related to children and youth. More recently, Carrie has helped to stimulate community conversations about mental health and trauma that affect student learning.

She serves as a delegate to the California School Boards Association (CSBA) and is a past president of the San Mateo County School Boards Association. She believes her work for county and state associations allows for her own continuous learning about the complex issues related to public education. Carrie is proud of her work chairing major educational conferences on topics such as mental health, social emotional learning and vulnerable children. She was also honored to chair the CSBA Annual Education Conference in 2017, which brought together 6,000 educational leaders statewide. Carrie was recently appointed to the California Department of Education’s Student Attendance Review Board where she continues to advocate for at risk youth.

Carrie was the San Carlos Citizen of the year in 2005 for her community work and fundraising for public schools.

Carrie’s community connections and expertise in public schools give her a unique advantage in real estate because she understands how public schools work throughout the county. She also has deep connections in the non-profit community and can easily connect people to volunteer opportunities or family support options.

Her gift is working with people to help them navigate real estate and the broad community. Carrie believes her work professionally and in the community is deeply satisfying. Carrie has her SRES and GRI real estate designations. She is also involved in a state wide real estate networking group.
